Oh, boy...

Well, there ya have it. We're having a boy. Not going to lie, just a little disappointed since my side of the family is very much dominated by girls, but I'm sure by the time October rolls around I'll be mentally prepared. We went to the doctor this morning expecting an ultrasound and turns out that they weren't going to do another one until 20 weeks. We must have been really spoiled at the fertility center because we got one every week over there. To top it off, the doctor wasn't even there because he was delivering babies so all we got to do was listen to the heartbeat again (don't get me wrong, that is fun...just not what we were expecting). So at the office, you can request a gender scan earlier than 20 weeks so that's what we did and they fit us in this morning. Luckily someone didn't show up, so we got their spot! The tech had some trouble getting the cord out from between the legs--she had to push down on my stomach quite a bit (ouch!) but it finally moved out of the way. I can't tell you how excited Brandon is--there are no words to describe that kind of excitement. The tech said as we were walking out, "at least boy diapers are easier to change!" Ha. Funny.
To those of you asking about a name, we have not yet decided. I'm not a fan of the whole naming-your-baby-before-it-comes-out thing. For now, we will call him baby.

    My guess is it was a boy honestly, but since you wanted a girl I just didn't say :). I went through the exact thing, I wanted a girl so bad! But Matthew is a lot of fun and we will definatly keep him! but next we will have a girl.I've already decided;). Boys are fun though, they really keep you on your toes! good luck picking out a name, we had a hard time as we had three girl names ready...lol. Looks like you will have a little shopping to do.

    and yes you were really spoiled...most people don't have a first ultra sound until 20 weeks! its torture!

    Oh man! I know you really wanted a girl! But I"m sure your excitement will grow and grow as the time to delivery gets closer. Perhaps Heavenly Father knew it was high time a baby boy came into your famiy. :)Janen is surrounded by boy cousins. Her girl cousins are all 6-8 years older than her.

    Boy diapers easier to change? HA they Spray!! I am with you on the name thing. Have a few favorites picked out but wait to see what fits them. Not that you know their personalities but you just get a good confirming feeling saying to their face. Also beware everyone will have an opinion on the name(s) you like so if you don't want to hear them keep the name quiet. Don't let others ruin your opinion!
